The 3 Day Dieting Solution
The 3 day diet was not designed for long term use but rather for people who need to lose a large amount of weight
in a short span of time. Generally speaking, most 3 day diets on the market today are chemically balanced and
when followed correctly the loss of 10 pounds is not only feasible but possible.
The great thing about a 3 day diet is that they consist of ordinary foods that can be found in almost any
kitchen. Except for a few (cabbage soup, the tuna diet, smoothie 3 day diet) of the choices the ingredients are
inexpensive and can be easily prepared.
The 3 day diet is only to be used for the allotted time before a break of 4-7 days should be taken. The key here
is not to over eat on the days while not on the diet. While the diet holds to 1200 calories (ideal for weight loss)
you will do well to stay in the area of 1500 calories—no more than 1800 if you are a male while off of it.
The number one reason for weight loss on these plans is the consistency. When you go under 1000 calories you put
your body in starvation mode which in turn lowers the burning ability of your metabolic system. 1200 calories has
the ability to keep the body in health as well as enabling the metabolism to function at optimal weight reducing
speed.
The body needs carbohydrates, proteins and fats in order to get the vitamins, minerals and all other nutrients
for good health. Also, the correct amounts of these help us to feel fuller for a longer amount of time, they help
us refrain from eating sweets and others things not on the diet as well as releasing chemicals to help us feel
good.
The diet itself consists of breakfasts that are light but filling. Day 1: ½ grapefruit or its juice along with a
slice of toast (whole grain) and a Tbs. peanut butter (organic is best), coffee or tea with sweetener should be
eaten throughout the morning. Start with the fruit; once it is finished wait about 15-20 minutes before smearing
the peanut butter on hot toast. Coffee and tea can be added if needed using only sweetener and drink plenty of
water.
Lunch for day one of the 3 day diet starts with a slice of toast, ½c tuna and coffee or tea while dinner
consists of 3 oz. any lean meat and 1c each: green beans and carrots. After 20 minutes or so, enjoy 1c of vanilla
ice cream and an apple.
Day two of the 3 day diet starts with an egg fixed in any style with dry toast and a banana. Lunch consists of
1c cottage cheese (or tuna) with 5 saltine crackers (or toast), black coffee or tea with sweetener. For dinner
enjoy two beef franks (or hot dogs), ½c carrots, 1c broccoli (or cabbage) with ½ c vanilla ice cream and a banana
for dessert.
Third day: Have five crackers (or a slice toast) with a slice of cheese and an apple, coffee, tea or water for
breakfast and a hard-boiled egg sliced on a piece of whole grain toast seasoned to taste (salt, pepper, garlic
powder) for lunch. The dinner meal on the 3 day diet consists of a cup tuna, and 1 cup each: carrots, cauliflower
and after about 20 minutes, melon with ½ c vanilla ice cream for dessert.
