Fast Weight Loss Diets



You may be tempted to fall into a pattern of trying every new fast weight loss diets on the market in an attempt to shed pounds, with each new diet sounding as it is the one for you. You would not be alone either. It is estimated 70% of the US population has dieted to an extreme at some point in their lives. Though some of these diet programs do work most offer more promises than results. Do not be fooled as the body works in a certain manner regardless of the promises.

The rate your body burns calories at is another element of losing weight. You can exercise and lower your caloric intake to lose weight but if the ratio is not correct you will burn muscle rather than fat. When choosing the right fast weight loss diets, you should remember you need proteins (about 30% of dietary intake) not only to maintain the body but to repair and build muscles as well. It is also necessary to have plenty of carbohydrates (about 60% of dietary intake) for the energy the body needs to perform all of its functions efficiently. Though the body just needs about 10% of its dietary intake from fats, they are still vital to the body.

How much you eat is also relevant to the fast weight loss diet effort. While the proper foods are crucial, the proper amounts of food are just as critical to weight loss. It is called food portion control and a good way to begin that regime is to always use a medium sized plate and do not over fill it. Take the biggest portion from the carbohydrate options—whole grains, fruits and vegetables.

When you eat is every bit as important as what is eaten. Traditionally, the three squares we have always been taught as being best is not necessarily true anymore. To keep the metabolism elevated it is essential to eat between 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day. This continually keeps energy at its peak for maximum fat burning effectiveness. Begin your day with fruit whenever possible. This moves through the body quickly while providing fiber to help cleanse the digestive system and help with proper elimination.

A diet plan—which ever one you choose, should get its food from as many natural choices as possible. Whole grain choices should contain actual whole grains and not just whole wheat. On any of the fast weight loss diets some of your small meals should contain dishes that include rice, quinoa, barley and rye. Eat raw whenever possible and plan meals that involve the least amount of ingredients. This ensures maximum vitamin and mineral intake—all of which aid the body to burn fat more efficiently.
